Read this with small breaks in between. She handles the graphic matters as they should be handled. With facts, without sensation, with a point.
Though this content could be difficult to read for those who have been through sexual trauma, come from abusive households, or have no reference for the evil that truly is in the world, I believe this message can be rather therapeutic for those that need to read someone else's account.
I connected with Moira's story on many points. She mentioned throwing herself into work as a coping mechanism and several of her interests are also things I enjoy. It was personally soothing to know that my "weirdness" can be explained.
If you do not have trauma in your background, you know someone who does. This book may help you understand yourself, or your loved one even better.
